Working in the Orchestra

The keystone of the program is the experience of active work in the orchestra, which means rehearsing and performing both operatic and symphonic repertoire. Academists work with first-class musicians and prestigious conductors, and profit from the unusually varied repertoire of the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester, which has historically served as both a pit orchestra at the opera and as an onstage symphony orchestra. The academists’ education is the priority, which means they are carefully guided into orchestral life.
