Where do developing musicians gain professional experience?
What is necessary to win a position and pass the trial period?
Who manages the education of young musicians?
In 2013, members of the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester began the process of refining and modernizing the “Frankfurt Orchestra School”, which was established in 1985. The 2015-16 season marked the official founding of the Paul Hindemith Orchestra Academy, an intensive, well-rounded program in which young orchestral musicians could gather personalized professional experience.
The Academy benefits not only its members, but the orchestra as a whole: it makes the orchestra more appealing, it attracts talented musicians at the beginning of their careers, and it serves as a sort of advance recruiting system for the best young candidates.
