Paula Heidecker

Paula Heidecker, born in 1991 in Duisburg, discovered the viola at the age of 12 after 7 years of violin lessons and switched instruments. From 2010-15 she studied with Andra Darzins at the HfMDK Stuttgart and earned her Bachelor’s with honors. She is currently studying with Pauline Sachse at the HfM “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden.

In Stuttgart she and 3 fellow students founded the Pierrot Quartett, with whom she participates in master classes and music festivals with renowned chamber music groups and artists, such as the Quatuour Ebene, Hatto Bayerle, the Vogler Quartet, and Gerhard Schulz. Shortly after its nascence, the quartet earned the first prize at the Carl Wendling Chamber Music Competition and were subsequently invited to the Academy program of the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival in Norway.

Paula is a scholarship recipient of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. In the 2013-14 season Paula was a Praktikantin at the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, and was a member of the PHO during the 2015-16 season.
