Nu Lee Joung
Nu Lee Joung, born in South Korea in 1990, began playing violin at the age of 14. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at the Konkuk University in Korea, she moved to Germany and earned her Master’s at the Universität Augsburg with Prof. Linus Roth. She is currently in the middle of her Konzertexam studies with Prof. Anne Shih in Mainz.
Nu Lee has won prizes at several renowned competitions in Korea and was a participant in Mozarteum Salzburg’s International Summer Academy. She has been a scholarship recipient of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation since 2016.
Her orchestral experience includes an internship in the first violin section of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and a temporary contract with the Augsburger Philharmonic.
She was a member of the PHO from April 2017 – February 2018.
In February 2018, Nu Lee won a permanent position with the Munich Radio Orchestra.
