Born in Lahnstein in 1994, Lydia Kappesser began her musical journey on the violin. In 2012 she switched to viola, and began her studies one year later with Roland Glassl at the HfMDK Frankfurt. She received additional instruction from Prof. Hans-Joachim Greiner (UdK Berlin) and Prof. Michael Mücke (HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin.)
Lydia has won several prizes from Jugend musiziert and the Koblenz Mozart Prize, and is a recipient of a scholarship from the Gertrud Bienko Stiftung Koblenz. She has gathered orchestral experience in the Landesjugendorchester Rheinland-Pfalz, the Bundesjugendorchester, the Jungen Deutschen Philharmonie and Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (GMJO).
She was member of the Paul Hindemith Orchestra Academy in 2016/2017.
