Dorian Kraft

Dorian Kraft was born in 1997 in Stuttgart and had his first lessons on the tuba with Jürgen Wirth and Jakob Guizetti. At the age of 15 he became a pre-college student at the Stuttgart Music College studying with Professor Stefan Heimann and Thomas Brunmayr, parallel to his education at the Stuttgart musical high school. In 2016 he became a full-time tuba student at the Stuttgart Music College.
Having gathered early orchestral experience in regional and national youth orchestras, at the age of 16 he played in the SWR Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra) and gained further experience at the Stuttgart State Theatre, the Württenberg Philharmonic in Reutlingen and at the Heidenheim Opera Festival. In 2018 he became a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie (German national youth orchestra) and began practical training at the Mannheim State Theatre.
Dorian is a laureate of the Frieder Bernius Music Prize and the Ingolf Burkhard Award. As a chamber musician he has played with Daniel Schnyder, Sarah Wegener, Uli Gutscher and the group

“Blechlabor.” Additionally he is a member of the Ludwigsburg Brass Quintet. In May 2019 he received a scholarship for the Paul Hindemith Orchestral Academy.
